Since its opening in December 2015, the Design Museum Brussels has adopted a dynamic acquisition policy to enrich its collections with historical and contemporary designs.

The continuous research, the collaboration with manufacturers, designers or foundations and the support of patrons, complement the Plastic Design Collection and belgisch design belge with objects that left their mark on their time or that will constitute the design heritage of tomorrow. Designed by both international and Belgian designers or manufacturers, the acquired objects may reflect a technical innovation or define new scenarios of use and behavior.

Finally, donations also play an important role in the development of the collections as heritage of the 20th and 21st century, enriching both the permanent and temporary exhibitions program.
