On 23 January 2025, the Design Museum Brussels provided the setting for a special podcast recording of Design Stories, Disegno’s podcast series. The panel discussion explored the challenges and opportunities of curating around women in design.
The reason for this conversation was the exhibition Looking Through Objects: Women in Contemporary Polish Design, where the work of 16 Polish women designers is highlighted. The recording was organised in collaboration with the Polish Institute Brussels, SWPS University, Royal College of Art and the Design Museum Brussels as an introduction to the exhibition, which is on display at the museum from 9 May to 28 September 2025.
The panel, moderated by Disegno’s editor in chief Oli Stratford featured Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka and Gian Luca Amadei, curators of Looking Through Objects, and Katarina Serulus and Marjan Sterckx, curators of Design Museum Brussels’ exhibition Untold Stories – Women Designers in Belgium 1880-1980.
