On the occasion of Cine Design, the Design Museum Brussels invites you to the screening of Philippe Petit’s film Danger Dave on August 28, 2025, in the presence of David Martelleur.

 

Danger Dave or the trials and tribulations of a professional skateboarder who is on his last legs yet has no desire to end his career. Shot over the course of five years, the film captures David Martelleur, a Belgian professional skateboarder, as he travels around the world, drifting through urban landscapes made of concrete and wood, and slowly nearing the end of his career. Following the social codes of this nomadic lifestyle, without falling into political commentary or travelogue, Danger Dave chronicles the misadventures of a man of a thousand faces who refuses to grow old. As emptiness begins to close in on him, the film questions David’s capacity for denial and his determination to push his way of life to the limit.
